C4 Change Architecture

Why change projects sometimes fail

To ensure the success of a change project, all relevant factors have to be congruent to the target state and with each other. Therefore, the C4 change architecture is based on the fundamental idea of the Congruence Model, developed by the acclaimed American (USA) Organizational Consultant, Dr. David Nadler (see Nadler / Tushman: Congruence Model of Change, in: Competing by Design (Nadler / Tushman. 1997)).

The relevance of the C4 change architecture for successful change processes was proven empirically in the first representative study on the success and failure of change management in large German companies that was carried out by C4 Consulting in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich.
